PENAMPANG: Two Upko leaders
will be making a comeback for the Barisan Nasional in the May 5 general
election. Former Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau and former Penampang MP
as well as Moyog assemblyman, Datuk Phillip Lasimbang were among 10 candidates
named by the component party this morning.
Party president Tan Sri
Bernard Dompok who will defend his Penampang parliamentary seat announced the
list which also included two new faces at the party headquarters here today.
They were Limus Jury for the
Kuala Penyu and Kennedy John Angian for the Bingkor seats.
A switch was also made
between Ranau parliamentary incumbent Datuk Siringan Gubat and Paginatan state
incumbent Datuk Ewon Ebin.
Among those dropped were
party information chief Datuk Donald Mojuntin who previously held the Moyog
seat, John Teo Mau Sang of Kuala Penyu and Datuk Justin Guka of Bingkor.
Other candidates retained
were Datuk Marcus Mojigoh for the Putatan parliamentary seat, Nabawan incumbent
Datuk Bobbey Suan and Masiung Banah of Kuamut. (NST)
