RURAL areas within the
Kuamut constituency will continue to see development throughout the year.
Kuamut's People
Representative, Masiung Banah said the development will be focusing on
improving the rural economy and will do
so in stages to meet the needs of the
people.
"There are plenty of
development projects planned for 2013 and they will be carried out as soon as
we receive the necessary allocation. Kuamut will not be left behind in the
country's developmental progress. "Road improvements and electric poles
are currently in the works," he said at the Kuamut Constituency office in
Bandar Maju, Sandakan.
He added when the upgrading
work has been completed the road will provide the people of Kuamut with better
road access to neighbouring districts and Sandakan town, thus making it easier
for them to carry on their business and
easier to go to the government departments and district offices.
"The road upgrading
work is done in stages while the electricity poles are being erected to provide
rural areas with electricity supply.
People living along the road from the
main junction to the Panangah exit and all the way into Panangah will in time
enjoy having electricity," he said. (Insight Sabah)
