DR IVAN NGEOW Ko Yen, 37,
who pleaded guilty to exposing himself to a 19-year-old female undergraduate
while dressed up as a Singapore secondary school girl, was sentenced to serve a
year's probation and ordered to do 60 hours of community service.
District Judge Francis
Remedios also ordered Ngeow to attend psychological and psychiatric treatment
prescribed by the Institute of Mental Heath, as well as undergo any
offence-specific treatment offered by the Ministry of Community Development,
Youth and Sports.
His wife, who was in court,
signed a S$5,000 (RM12,000) bond as security for his good behaviour during the
period of probation.
The doctor of geriatric
medicine had admitted to insulting the student's modesty in the incident that
occurred two years ago.
Deputy Public Prosecutor
Ramu Miyapan then told the court that the undergraduate, then 19 years old and
studying at the National University of Singapore, alighted from a bus at about
9pm in August 2010. (The Straits Times)
