KUCHING: A total of RM3.11
billion has been allocated to Sarawak to implement Rural Water Supply (BALB)
and Rural Electricity Supply projects (BELB) under the National Key Result
Area.
Sarawak Minister of Public
Utilities Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said from 477 BALB projects under
the programme, 311 were completed while 166 were at various stages of
implementations, with an allocation of RM1.73 billion.
“A total of 50,000
households will benefit from the projects by the end of the year and the number
will go up to 89,000 by 2013,” he said when winding up the session for his
ministry at the State Assembly sitting, here, today.
He said Sarawak also
received a special allocation to implement 30 more water supply projects at a
cost of RM109.75 million. Twenty-seven were completed while the rest were being
implemented.
For BELB projects, he said
RM1.38 billion had been allocated to Sarawak to implement 829 projects which
would benefit 44,300 households.
Almost 75 per cent of the
rural populace in Sarawak is now enjoying electricity supply. (Bernama)

ReplyDeleteSarawak sepatutnya tidak mempunyai apa2 masalah berkenaan dengan bekalan air dan elektrik.. empangan Bakun lebih dari cukup untuk menampung keperluan di negeri itu..
