SABAH DAP Petagas Branch Chairman, Allen Chieng said while he visited the people and doing new voter registration activities, he have received many complaints from the public and asked him to reflect the requirements to the concern authorities.
One of complained is from Chee who is a Sarawak businessman, he and his wife came to Sabah in 1985 and decided to settled and work in Sabah.
He told Allen that he is very disappointed and very unhappy, because he has applied for Sabah Permenate Racidency (PR) since 1988, but until today the application still have not been approved, he repeatedly asked about the approval and the officer told him that his application haven’t approval, and asked him to wait.
Chee said he doesn’t understand why his application for PR for more than 20 year has not approved by the authority. He is a Malaysian citizen from other state, yet it is so hard to get a PR.
He said he had few foreign workers who work in his company for three to four years, and they have received a PR from the Government, some even being given Sabah citizenship. This is really unfair!
Allen wished to ask the BN Sabah State Government why a Malaysian citizen where subjected to such unfairness. Allen does not understand why a Malaysian citizen from other states living and work in Sabah for over twenty years, applied his PR through a proper channel where not being approved.
As for many illegal immigrants with no proper document were easily to obtained residency or Mykad in Sabah. It is understand that all Malaysian citizens of other states who stay and work in Sabah for more than five years can apply for Sabah PR.
Allen pointed out that the BN government spent a billion ringgit promoting the people First' slogan is only just a pack of lies. Allen said, now it the time to change these unfair treats by the BN, if we want a better future, we must voter and choose to support Pakatan Rakyat.
