KOTA KINABALU : United
Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko) President, Tan Sri Bernard
Dompok has shrugged off rumours that the party is contemplating pulling out of
the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
He stressed that Upko had no
intention to do so, saying “we think that it is the BN that will be able to
deliver what we want and a good example is the Royal Commission of Inquiry
(RCI) to look into the illegal immigrant issue in Sabah”.
Dompok, who is plantation
industries and commodities minister, said this to reporters on arrival at the
Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), here tonight.
Scores of party leaders and
supporters swarmed the arrival hall of the KKIA’s Terminal 1 in a show of
support to the Upko president.
Asked on his Deputy Datuk
Wilfred Bumburing’s resignation from the BN, following which the rumours came
about, Dompok said: “Well, it is a resignation, talk (about Bumburing’s
resignation) have been going on for almost a year and I think people have got
quite used to it and when it came, I do not think anybody was surprised”.
On the vacant post in Upko,
he said those were consequential matters that the party leaders would have to
deal with, saying “it is also not be an election year for the party this year.”
Last Sunday, Bumburing
announced his resignation from the party to form the Sabah Reform Front, which
he said would be aligned with the opposition. (Bernama)
Tapi ada spekulasi Dompok juga akan keluar UPKO.
ReplyDeleteDompok dan UPKO akan terus bersama BN.
DeleteDon't trust on rumors.
DeleteThere are many such rumors that this leader will defect or that leader will leave the party spread when nearing the next GE. The people should not be easily influenced by these sort of baseless rumors unless proven.
DeleteApapun, tunggu saja perkembangan politik yang selanjutnya. memang sukar untuk menjangkaa tindakan mereka ni.
ReplyDeletePolitics is unpredictable, speculations get us nowhere, we should just wait and see.
DeleteBumburing keluar BN tak ada kaitan dgn UPKO.
ReplyDeleteBumburing have his own agenda to leave the party, whatever the motive is, only he himself knows. Whatever he does now is no longer BN's concern, there is no need to focus too much on their defection as it won't threatened the BN party.
DeleteUPKO still loyal to BN.
ReplyDeleteEven if there are members who wanted to leave the party, it is their own decision. If they are no longer sincere to fight together with BN, might as well leave.
DeleteDatuk Bernard Dompok promised that there will not be any more UPKO members that will be leaving the parti. Just wait and see.
