KUALA LUMPUR: Prominent
radio personality Kudsia Kahar has been appointed as The Star group radio's
deputy chief broadcast officer effective July 16. The announcement was made by
Suria FM Deputy Chief Operations Officer Yusry Abu Samah at a breaking of fast
ceremony organised by the radio station.
He said former Lite FM
programme department head Adiwati Zainuddin would be heading Suria FM's
programme department.
Besides Kudsia, Yusry said
Suria FM would be adding former Era FM deejay Reza Mohamad to the team as the
station's new morning announcer.
In an interview with the
media, Kudsia said her new job was challenging as she was in charge of The Star
media group's four radio stations Suria FM, Capital FM, Red FM and 988.
However, she added that her
focus would be on Suria FM to solidify the Malay radio station's positioning
amongst listeners.
“I am excited to be a part
of this new team because I have never seen a bunch as lively as our Suria FM
announcers,” said Kudsia, who was vice-president of Astro Radio's new media
department.
Kudsia has a wealth of
experience in the field of radio broadcasting and had even served as a deejay
in Radio Muzik and Era FM before being promoted to work behind the scenes in
Astro.
She was also a popular judge
on reality programme Akademi Fantasia for a few seasons.
Meanwhile, The Star group
radio's chief executive officer C.K. Tan said every organisation needed an
elite group and Kudsia and Adiwati had made the group complete.
