PUTATAN : Upko
Treasurer-General Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh on Tuesday denied he will be joining
former party Deputy President Datuk Wilfred Bumburing and align himself with
opposition Pakatan Rakyat.
"I am still loyal to
the party and Barisan Nasional," he said at a moreh (contribution)
presentation ceremony to representatives of 11 mosques and surau in his
constituency at his Parliamentary Liaison Office in Duvanson here.
"I feel very sad. He is
a good friend of mine so I respect his decision and I wish all the best to
them," he said.
The Putatan MP also said it
was also the right of his Beaufort colleague, Datuk Lajim Ukin to make a
similar decision.
Two weeks ago, Bumburing who
is Tuaran MP and Lajim publicly announced their allegiance to Pakatan Rakyat in
the presence of its de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Tuaran and
Beaufort, respectively.
"We cannot call him a
traitor because our country runs on democracy."
Meanwhile Mojigoh said as
far as he is concerned he would not be lobbying to be the candidate in the
coming election.
